At Jolly Giant Childcare, we hold a deep sense of pride in providing our community with the highest quality childcare services. As the President of our organization, I am delighted to share our journey, values, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of your families.
Our dedicated team comprises Early Childhood Educators who form the heart and soul of our organization. We meticulously select our educators, ensuring they hold current first aid certifications, undergo thorough criminal record checks, and present a physician’s declaration of suitability. Additionally, our caregivers are required to submit two letters of recommendation, affirming their dedication to the well-being of your precious little ones. This rigorous process assures you that the individuals entrusted with your children are not only qualified but deeply committed to their welfare.
While all our staff members possess post-secondary education related to child development, we firmly believe in continuous growth and learning. We mandate our team members to engage in ongoing professional development through workshops and courses to continuously enhance their skills. This unwavering commitment ensures that each child enrolled at Jolly Giant Childcare receives the highest standard of care and educational experiences possible.
A glimpse into our history – Jolly Giant Childcare originated from a dream. After obtaining my License to Practice as an Early Childhood Educator, I embarked on our journey by opening our first center in September 1999, right within the comfort of my own home. This momentous occasion in my life coincided with the birth of my first child in October.
Despite the challenges I encountered as a man in the childcare field, I was able to fully dedicate myself to the Jolly Giant dream within just six short months of opening. I spent six enriching years managing and educating at our inaugural location, Nadely. As time passed, I felt compelled to expand our mission of offering high-quality and affordable childcare to new communities.
Today, Jolly Giant Childcare proudly offers 175 childcare spaces across four locations in Nanaimo.
It fills me with immense joy knowing that we are making a positive impact by providing high-quality and affordable childcare to numerous families. Witnessing children learn and grow year after year is truly rewarding.
