Dear Wendy and Staff:

I am truly grateful for all your hard work, loving etc with my daughter Aleesha-Marie. She is growing fast and has this glow after a day with you. She will tell me what she has done or seen that day with joy and excitement. I love to see her beautiful smile when I pick her up. That tells me she loves being there and the people who look after my daughter are caring and loving. Thank you all for the wonderful work. I know I am leaving her in a good place and look forward to her stories and new songs. I would recommend the Jolly Giant Childcare to anyone who is looking for day care! Aleesha also looks forward to being there, every night she will ask me if she is going to day care and will shout with joy and happiness saying, "I am happy now!" "Thank you mommy!" And rushes off to bed waiting for morning to arrive. In the morning she cannot wait to get going, 'Lets go mommy!" And talks about day care to people on the bus. This make me very proud of my daughter and I love to see her eyes shine with such anticipation and excitement.

RE: Jolly Giant Childcare

My daughter attended both the infant/toddler childcare centre and the Irwin Street preschool/daycare centre. At both of these locations I found the staff to be consistently AMAZING. It was very refreshing to be able to drop my child off at the centre and see her face light up with glee because she was truely happy to be there. The Jolly Giant staff over all are friendly, warm and caring and provided a nurturing educational environment were my daughter was able to thrive. My daughter most enjoyed the feild trips that she was provided and riding on "the Jolly Giant bus". As a parent I most appreciated the growth and development I noticed in my daughter as she was continually provided opportunities to learn new things. I would absolutly reccommend Jolly Giant childcare to any family with young children and I know I will be in touch with some of the staff at Jolly Giant for years to come!

As a single parent, the most difficult thing I have ever had to do was to make the decision to get back in to the work force while my youngest child Dylan was still very small.  My worst fear as a mother was not being there to actively raise my child on a daily basis and instil and teach the values I hold true in my family.
When I finished my trade diploma, I found a job immediately, and was desperate for a quality childcare that could take my child in as soon as possible.  Making the phone calls to every daycare in the phone book, I was immediately impressed by John's positive attitude and willingness to make the whole process very easy.  He was willing to meet within an hour, and show Dylan around so that he and I could inspect the whole facility, and meet the staff members.
The moment we stepped in the door, I knew this was the place.  The children there were so happy and well adjusted, I knew from the get-go that this was how I wanted my son to feel while I was at work.
Being that Dylan had been raised by a single parent, he had developed some issues with seperation anxiety.  The staff members at Jolly Giant were so kind and warm-hearted. To my amazement Dylan developed close relationships with the staff faster than I could have ever dreamt.
John has such high standards in his childcare facilities, that he has only the best staff working in them.  He has found perfect care workers who truly love what they do, and who live and breath for the children they care for.
Dylan has been with Jolly Giant for three years, and I have watched him blossom into a happy, sensitive and caring little boy with confidence in himself.
The staff use the same behaviour that they teach (in the warmest and most caring way) and all of the children that receive this care are great friends.  It shows in the way that they interact.
It is the most wonderful feeling I have ever experienced - to walk in the door with my son in the morning and have all of the children say in unison, "Dylan's here! Hi Dylan!"  The staff react in the same way too!  They greet with hugs, and ask how things were the night before (they ALWAYS remember plans the children had told them about).  The staff that has taken care of my son for three years have become a part of Dylan's life and his family.
Dylan will be attending Kindergarten in another district this fall, and this will be a bittersweet time for the both of us.  As long as I live, I will never forget the kindness, the love and the values my son has received (and in turn, learned to use with everyone he meets) during these years at Jolly Giant.
Jolly Giant has been the greatest gift to my family that we have ever received.  I have also made friends for life in my son's care workers, and will always treasure them.
I cannot say enough about Jolly Giant Childcare.  They are of the highest calibre and quality. 
John Wilson and his staff have raised the bar in terms of what true childcare should be, and have set standards that can only be believed when seen with your own eyes.

Dear John, Cheryl, Rebecca & Sacha,

When we moved to Nanaimo a little over 1 year ago, we were looking for a challenging environment – one that was safe, clean and focused on positive learning & fun for our son Cole. 

Jolly Giant Daycare has been all that and way more!!

After one year, we can say that we have not only found what we were looking for in child care but we also found friends and memories that will last forever!

We feel very confident that Cole is getting the education and care that he needs. 

Not only has the staff shown our son how to care and respect himself and others, but each and every staff have reinforced these policies by conducting themselves in a most professional and genuinely caring manner.

Cole always has great stories, songs and adventures to tell us about. These memories will stay with him for many years to come!

They have been very supportive of our family goals and helped enrich our son's life by providing variety outside of regular home routines. The staff are well educated and passionate in their field of expertise. Open lines of communication and feedback are readily available regarding your little one's day. They have excellent hours of operation, offer up nutritious snacks, and adhere to safety requirements when out on a fun field trip or for a daily neighbourhood walk. Like all parents, my wife Jeannine and I were apprehensive about placing our little one in daycare, but when Jeannine returned to university to complete her studies, this was our only option. John Wilson and his caring, thoughtful, and experienced staff have provided the answer to all our worries and concerns: throughout this year we have watched Katelyn grow from the loving, compassionate attention she receives at Jolly Giant.

My child’s safety and happiness were the two most important things I was looking for in a daycare. At Jolly Giant we found both, and a lot more. My son was welcomed with open arms and was made to feel a part of things right from the very beginning. Their environment ensures total safety and the caregivers are just that; very caring.           Jolly Giant Childcare

     My husband and I would like to convey our thanks to you for your exceptional loving care of our daughter while she attended you preschool. She started at your preschool when she was just barely three years old and continued there until she was ready for kindergarten. The preparation for kindergarten that Tanesha received has enabled her to exceed our wildest dreams! She is in an unmodified program for Grade One and the EA is there for safety reasons only, as Tanesha has seizures that progress into statu epilepticus.
      When she started at your place we had just finished a year of Dilantin and Tegretol therapy that rendered her zombie-state for a full year while seizure control was the main priority over everything else, and this allowed for no developmental gains. I remember at 27 months old Tanesha could not stack three blocks on top of each other. It was heart wrenching.
      We watched as you patiently guided Tanesha and repeatedly taught her the skills to enable her to enjoy her interactions with others and she loved going to Jolly Giant Childcare. Due to her social-emotional developmental delay we held Tanesha back a year before putting her in kindergarten and it was the best thing we could have done for her.
     We would definitely recommend Jolly Giant Childcare to parents looking for a loving, nurturing, and professional environment for their child. We feel Tanesha's time at Jolly Giant was well-spent and the proof can be seen in her smile.
